A CLASSIC GAME OF CHANGING SIDES
PULL UP A CHAIR
The host chooses their color. A guest takes the other color. Your seat is remembered in this browser.
Black moves first. Place a disc on an empty square so that a straight line of white discs lies between it and another black disc. On White's turn, the colors reverse.
All captured lines flip to your color, horizontally, vertically, and diagonally. Every move must capture at least one disc. You cannot jump over gaps or your own discs.
If a player has no legal move, their turn passes automatically. When neither player can move, the game ends—even with empty squares left. The most discs wins; equal counts are a draw.
A little strategy: corners cannot be recaptured. Be careful about giving your opponent a move into one. Having more discs early is not always an advantage.
Hints and undo are available in local games. Against the computer, Undo returns to your previous decision. Online restarts need both players' agreement.
The current board will be cleared.
